RN Registered Nurse - PACU (Recovery) Penn State Health St. Joseph (Reading, PA)

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) consists of 19 patient care bays. The unit provides nursing care and management of patients that have received general, local, regional anesthesia or conscious sedation under the direction of the Anesthesia Department.

The unit provides care to both inpatients and outpatients ranging from pediatric to geriatric.

JOB SUMMARY:

The RN Registered Nurse incorporates knowledge of the nursing process and the professional standards of nursing in daily practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. The RN Registered Nurse provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

·Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

Experience:

·6 months RN Registered Nurse experience required

License/Certification:

·Active RN license in the state.

·BLS required.

·ACLS required on telemetry units within 12 months.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·RN medical/surgical, ICU or ED experience preferred
