JOB SUMMARY:

Penn State Health Life Lion EMS is seeking skilled and dedicated EMT’s to provide direct patient care to patients in the prehospital setting on both 911 incidents and on non-emergency intra facility transfers. EMT’s will be certified by the Pa DOH as an EMT and will maintain certification in the Commonwealth and must be free of any sanctions or administrative actions by the DOH. Life Lion EMT’s are part of a reputable team that supports the mission of Penn State Health, a leading Academic Medical Center and Level 1 trauma center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

6 months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred.

Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified in Pennsylvania EMT certification required.

Must have current hazmat R and I training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to stand/walk frequently; sit occasionally.

Able to lift/carry 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-50 lbs occasionally.

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.

Able to climb occasionally, reach constantly.

Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 6 months of EMT experience preferred
