The Registered Nurse/RN in this role is responsible for accepting incoming referral information via multimedia and working directly with bed management and direct care nursing to coordinate inpatient bed assignments (particularly critically ill) for patients at Penn State Health, Hershey Medical Center. The RN also coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow using knowledge of clinical and operational activities throughout the hospital network.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Nursing required.
3 years Critical Care Nursing experience required.
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Strong critical thinking, accurate assessment, and problem solving skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Attentiveness to detail is required.
High-level analytical ability required in order to resolve complex patient flow issues.
Interpersonal skills required.
Knowledge in nursing concepts, practices, and procedures required.
5 years Critical Care Nursing experience preferred
