The Acute Care Surge Unit is looking for highly motivated Nurses to join our team. This unique 9 bed unit cares for a variety of patient types including: Trauma, Medicine, Cardiology, and Surgical patients. This unit is modeled with a 3:1 patient:RN ratio allowing for dedicated nursing care. Opportunities abound to become very involved in the unit operations and direction as part of this small, but dedicated, team.. Develops a written plan of nursing care, which includes patient teaching and discharge planning. Implements nursing plan through the giving of direct care and/or by delegating to other professional and non-professional staff. Responsible for documentation of care given and patient progress. Transcribes and executes physician's orders accurately and promptly. Communicates patients’ progress and needs to appropriate physician. Keeps supervisor informed of unit activity and condition of patients. Collaborates effectively with the medical staff in matters of patient care. Seeks assistance from supervisor as necessary in clinical problem solving, execution of procedures and use of equipment. Assumes charge nurse responsibility when requested. Communicates patient needs and plan of care to other nurses through shift reports, care plans, and patient conferences. Assists in teaching patient care procedures to other nursing staff members as appropriate.
·Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
·Six months RN experience required.
·Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
·Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
·Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
·Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
·Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
