Registered Nurses who join this fast-paced work environment will develop strong assessment skills caring for floor-level medical-surgical patients. We offer our patients a comprehensive array of highly specialized services including; Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, Hematology and Bariatric. Additional bed allocation is used as an overflow of all medical and surgical specialties, creating a rich diversity in the patient population. 3rdfloor South is a specialty unit with 44 beds with a broad spectrum of patients creating opportunities for the RN to collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary health care teams to enhance positive patient outcomes.The challenge of medical/surgical nursing is best experienced on this unit where nurses care for patients with complex, multi-system health problems. This unit is the primary location for Trauma and Emergency General Surgery acute care patients as well as bariatric patients from all service lines that require specialty beds as part of their care. Additional bed allocation is used as an overflow of all medical and surgical specialties, creating a rich diversity in the patient population. This broad spectrum of patients creates opportunities for the nursing staff to collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary health care teams. Our unique environment allows us to care for between twenty eight and thirty four patients.
Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
6 months RN experience required.
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
