Penn State Hershey Medical Center is Central Pennsylvania’s only Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Regional Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, and Tertiary Care Provider.


Registered Nurses in the Operating Room are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients.

Our progressive and innovative surgical team fosters an environment that is challenging, dynamic, and state-of-the-art. Be a part of the dynamic team in our progressive Perioperative Division, providing cutting edge surgery. Our Operating Room Suites consist of twenty-nine rooms. Last year the Main OR treated in excess of 15,000 patients. We are part of an academic medical center, as well as a Level I Trauma Center which will expose you to a wide variety of patients and experiences. We provide a wide array of service on a daily basis, including General, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedic, ENT, Transplantation, Gynecology, Urology, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Pediatric Surgery. Certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.

This position requires the following:

·External RN candidates with 4 years of RN experience in an Operating Roomorprevious Internal ‘Plan A’ employees

·A 15 week orientation Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am-5:30pm

·A 30 minute respond time for on call weeknights, weekends and holidays in addition to regularly scheduled shifts

Registered Nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit

6 months of experience working as a RN
