The Patient Access Coordinator / Medical Assistant will be responsible for the daily operations and coordination of health appointments for a designated patient population and to assure appropriate and timely communication/information regarding medical service, access, physician and service referral, and direction of services offered at the organization. The Patient Access Coordinator / Medical Assistant will provide high quality scheduling experience for the designated patient population. The Patient Access Coordinator / Medical Assistant will deploy excellent customer service engagement skills by phone.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient practice or clinical specialty area required.
Active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Excellent oral communication skills required.
Computer skills required.
Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
Prior Call Center, Healthcare IT, or Healthcare operational experience preferred.
Strong customer service background
