The LPN/Licensed Practical Nurse in Endoscopy is an integral part of the multidisciplinary Endoscopy team. The LPN in this role will prep and recover patients for their procedures with the assistance of the Registered Nurse staff, as well as assist the multidisciplinary team in providing patient centered care in the procedural rooms in a circulating role and/or highly technical specialized role as the bedside assistant.

Endoscopy is a fast paced, inpatient and outpatient procedural area performing a variety of GI and Hepatology related procedures, approximately 1100 procedures/month. We are open 5 days/week with a call expectation outside of regular business hours providing 24/7 coverage. The LPN in this role will assist with scheduled/urgent adult, GI procedures, on the Endoscopy unit, in the OR, on the Intensive Care Units, or in the Emergency Department. The LPN on this unit frequently needs to multi-task, possess flexibility with assignments, and be a team-player as Endoscopy is a dynamic, innovative, and growing department at Penn State Health!



Location: 500 University Drive, Suite 2100, Entrance 4, Hershey PA

The Endoscopy office performs approximately 50 procedures per day consisting of EGD’s, colonoscopy, ERCP’s, Interventional work through endoscopes, liver biopsies, paracentesis & motility procedures. Work with a team-focused staff that is fast-paced and demands flexibility on any given day.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 7am-6:30pm.

Work Schedule: Call Coverage will include rotational hours required between 5:00PM-7:00AM. Weeknights and 24 hour coverage on weekend (rotational schedule divided among team)

- High School diploma required.

- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current license to practice in the state - of PA or eligible for licensure in PA required.

- BLS required.

- One (1) year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred.


- Able to stand & sit constantly; walk frequently.

- Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.

- Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally.

- Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.

- Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
