As a member of the Population Health team, you will support Penn State Health’s efforts to standardize and produce system-wide tools and dashboards on the patient populations thatare under our care.
Responsible for performing analyses and creating reports from a variety of data sources (e.g., electronic medical records, billing files, claims files) using Structured Query Language (SQL) and similar methods to inform decision-making relative to clinical and business opportunities.
Facilitates the development and maintenance of internal and external data sources using common database techniques.
Works in a team-based environment with the opportunity to learn from senior data analysts and use new data analytic tools.
Presents complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
Generates routine and ad hoc reports.
Previous data analytics experience
Previous SQL experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or related field
3 years’ experience in Strategic Planning, Marketing, Data Analysis, or related required.
Analytical experience required.
Health planning or hospital experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Strong communication skills, analytical skills and understanding of the academic health environment required.
Proficient in Power Point and Excel required.
Practical knowledge of planning and business development and analysis techniques required.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure required.
Ability to adapt and respond to unexpected changes required.
