Position is responsible to safely perform predictive, preventative and in-depth maintenance repairs and inspections on a wide variety of fleet, grounds/landscape equipment and any auxiliary equipment or attachments. Position is responsible to prioritize, assign work and provide oversight to Mechanic B Maintenance.
High School Diploma or GED required
5-7 years of landscape/fleet/equipment mechanical maintenance and repair experience required. Experience must include diagnostics, troubleshooting, electrical, machining, fabricating, welding, specialized testing equipment, hydraulics and rebuilding/replacing small engines.
Valid PA drivers license required
Prior experience in equipment operating for a broad range of landscape/fleet/grounds equipment and attachments required
Must be able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions; use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and mathematics equivalent to 1 to 3 years of applied trades training.
Strong computer skills; preferably have experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
Must pass a written test and perform numerous hands on testing to demonstrate abilities. This might include but not limited to: equipment operation, large truck operation, trailer maneuvering, welding, diagnostics ability, etc.
Prior experience in a lead technician role.
Valid PA Inspection license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Strong customer service and communication skills. Initiative to keep current with latest technology, best practices.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize projects/repairs.
Ability to work independently.
Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
ASE Certified preferred.
