Reporting directly to the Penn State Health and College of Medicine Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer (CISPO), the Privacy Director is responsible for managing and directing privacy activities related to the categorization, retention, access, and usage of sensitive information (e.g., Protected Health Information, Personally Identifiable Information, etc.). Monitors and ensures compliance with federal and state laws and the organization¿s privacy practices. Performs initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments and conducts related ongoing monitoring activities. The director supervises, manages, and/or leads work and workers performing privacy functions across the enterprise.
Bachelors Degree required and 7 years hands-on experience.
At least 5 years of management experience
Masters Degree/JD Preferred
Professional privacy and cybersecurity certifications a plus (e.g., Ceritfied Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Risk and Information System Control (C-RISC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), etc.).
