Responsible for end to end vendor management as well as for serving as a resource for the direction of work activities in negotiating, contracting, bidding, RFPs, RFIs, and the development, review and approval of Contract Terms and Conditions. Vendor management will include delivering improved costs, quality, delivery, responsiveness and technology leadership from suppliers as well as both onboarding and off boarding them. The role will also be responsible for developing sourcing strategies and ensuring alignment to GPO affiliate sourcing strategies, projects and initiatives within commodities as well as participating in merger & acquisition activities for the system.


Bachelor Degree or equivalent - 8 Years of Experience in previous contract and vendor management roles. Prior experience in developing programs and processes.

7 years of supply chain experience, including direct responsibility for contracting and sourcing. This experience must include analyzing bids, contracts, legal documents, RFPs, and RFIs. Eleven years total experience required without a Bachelors Degree.

Previous experience with project management in small and large scales required.


Understanding of group purchasing organizations structure and function

Expertise in one or more areas of commodity responsibility such as Information Systems, Facilities Management, Business Services, Medical Surgical, Basic Science Research and Clinical Lab Operations

Proficiency and knowledge demonstration as it relates to Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, database systems, and electronic bidding and contracting software applications

Analytical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of non-profit business decision making models

Ability to work independently and in teams at times


CPM, CMRP, CPSM, RN or other material management and purchasing certifications preferred

Familiarity with health care data analytics and value analysis processes and previous experience with implementation preferred

Multi-facility health system background preferred

5 years of experience in medical center, hospital or clinical setting preferred
