JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible to design and construct custom casework and cabinetry or to match existing cabinetry to meet specific customer needs. Design and fabricate components and scientific apparatus for new applications or duplicate existing components, using wood, plastics, light metals and laminates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Apprenticeship training in job related field, machinist experience or training, primarily on metal lathe and vertical mill required.

5 years job related experience in cabinetmaking, basic machinist skills and acrylic fabrication required.

Must be able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, and simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments.

Must be able to use basic mathematics equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training.

Must have knowledge of traditional and European cabinetmaking techniques, acrylic fabrication and machining principals and practices.

Must have good cabinet making skills, basic machinist skills, mechanical ability, knowledge of products and their specifications, and design ability.

Must be able to work to tolerances within .003 inch. Valid Driver¿s License required. Operation of tractors, forklifts, and other types of equipment preferred.

Installation experience in commercial/medical environment is preferred.

Organizational skills and detail oriented are preferred.

Must pass a written skills test with a minimum grade of 75% and demonstrate skills by completing a hands-on cabinet project.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to stand & walk frequently; sit occasionally.

Able to lift/carry 0-20 frequently; 21-100 lbs occasionally.

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-100 lbs occasionally.

Able to reach constantly; climb occasionally.

Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
