Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan in compliance with the Joint Commission Standards. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of moderately complex biomedical equipment and systems including multi-component devices that may or may not be interconnected under the guidance and direct supervision. May also coordinate vendor maintenance activities included project installations, maintenance, repair and recalls.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
•Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported
•Is highly familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
•Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment.
•Can use computer programs to document and track work completed. Can run reports and navigate through equipment database to find information.
•Can use teamwork to facilitate work goals. May liaise with other support services departments such as IT to resolve issues.
•Can communicate information succinctly to groups or individuals. Communicates in a focused and compelling way to drive others thoughts and actions
•Can plan and organize work to assure timely and accurate completion.
•Can identify complex issues, problems and opportunities and takes action within scope of this job that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probably consequences
•Can identify continuous improvement opportunities. Uses newly gained knowledge on the job to learn through application.
•All other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience/education required (e.g. military training)
2 years of related experience required.
CBET certification preferred.
